THE ACTION PACK

The Action pack provides a variety of experiments to play with. I’ll refer to them as awareness activities. They provide a structure within which the cards from the previous 2 packs are combined where; we’re deliberately acting with the intention of embodying a certain energy (attitude) so that we can observe ourselves, our reactions, discomforts, and moments of elation; we witness anything that gives us feedback about the theme from the Contemplation pack. Are there events that are triggering any memories related to the theme on the contemplation card? Is someone speaking to YOU about something in their life around that theme? Does it show up suddenly in a book or YouTube video without you consciously seeking it out? The thought and attitude are the underlying elements that combine to create the 3-part personalization of a particular spread.

NOTE

If you’re not in a position to take action to integrate these activities into your daily life you can IMAGINE yourself in situations where you’d be able to apply them. You can also remember times when you could have applied them and imagine how it might have felt or how the outcome might have been different. IF you can remember times when you DID already play with something like this, imagine it with the deliberate shift in attitude that’s being suggested, and check in to see if there is any connection to the thought in the contemplation card.

TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS PACK

Choice is Juicy Stuff

Just notice how you feel as you run the experiments. Remember the Intention card and embody the energy of that attitude while you’re playing with the activities. Get curious and experiment and explore! The cool thing about being deliberate in your attitude and actions is that it naturally engages the ‘observer’ part of your consciousness and changes your relationship to the world and people around you. It can be a very playful experience, even if the themes involved seem serious. It is very empowering because YOU are choosing to consider, intend and respond deliberately and differently. There is power in choice!

Doing it ‘Right’?

I encourage you to remember that there is no right or wrong way to do this. You might come up with a different application of this due to your particular circumstance or perspective. That’s exciting! Also take into account that there may be times when none of the cards seem to make sense in any personal kind of way, or the awareness activity seems to bring no big moments of insight or wisdom. Sometimes that comes later. Like a good psychic/intuitive reading from a talented reader, sometimes the meanings only become clear to the recipient at a somewhat later date. I encourage you to keep a record, however brief, of any spreads that you do and if there was a ‘result’ from it or if there wasn’t. I’ve noticed that there will sometimes be very similar spreads that come up over a period of time until I finally ‘get it’, and then the spreads will move on to another theme.

What if the Suggested Activity is Totally Unrealistic?

Sometimes this is where you get to look at the cards as possible messengers guiding you to something you hadn’t asked. For example, you might be due to give a presentation outlining a new method of operation in which it is essential that you answer questions about your reasoning. If you pull the “Give no opinion today” card, that would obviously be unable to translate literally since this is part of your job today. Instead, you could apply it by responding as neutrally as possible when explaining your choices, so as not to sound OPINIONATED when explaining your choices for the new method. If that’s the case check out the other two cards and see how they might relate. Is the Intention card suggesting neutrality or perhaps faith? Is the contemplation card asking you to consider themes of fear or boundaries - something that might make you aware of when you become triggered to communicate in a way that might work against people being open to your presentation?

This is a good time to support you in interpreting the activities in conjunction with what you receive from the other cards and reading the intent behind the described activity instead of the literal description so that you can adjust it accordingly.

What if You HATE the Activity?

Good question! If you find yourself NOT wanting to do it then it means you’ve likely discovered some resistance. Look for the section on resistance for more info on that. It’s really valuable stuff, resistance. For now, just take note of it. Do you feel like tearing up the card with your teeth (my childhood go-to…OK, adult too sometimes), or do you want to call me bad names for even suggesting that someone should do that? Or perhaps you find yourself mentally backing away, feeling distaste, or indignant or not being able to focus. Take note that you feel this way and then if it doesn’t subside by naming the feeling, move on to another card! Totally YOUR CALL! This is YOUR spread and your experiment so it all counts.
